Hey guys!! I`m so happy you`re hopping on by (pun intended) – I`m Katrina!
I come from a beautiful tropical island, so most of my media is amidst the serene forests and exotic beaches. Though I have only one leg, I don`t let it slow me down in the least – I do everything and anything that I want to. Like all women, I love dressing up and showing off what I got – modeling has been a way for me to bring this passion to life! Being in front of the camera gives me a great thrill of self confidence and I`m glad to hear all of the positive feedback so far.
I lost my leg as a result of a serious bone cancer at the age of 9. From that point on, I knew I was different from other children around me, mainly because disabled integration is so poor here. Disabled rights and handicapped equality are words that do not appear in this island`s vernacular, but I have made the best of the situation and am a stronger woman for it. I started out by walking with two canes, but was all too aware of the constant stares it elicited. That is why I taught myself to walk (well hobble really :) with one cane because it looks more natural and affords me greater mobility. I also am pretty good at using a single under-arm crutch for some hands-free fun in the sun!
My passions include dancing, fine dining, working out, and, of course, modeling.
As a disabled person in my country, it is terribly hard to find work and provide the support that my two wonderful daughters need. Unfortunately, independent women managing their own lives is not common in my home. I seek to change all of this though .
